Senior Electrical Engineer

Major Responsibilities Responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews independently or as the group leader. Generate complete design specifications for the most complex projects. Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications. Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications. Conduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations. Prepare oral presentations and written reports to management, indicating solution or range of possible alternatives in rank of desirability and probability of success when there is no single solution. Minimum Knowledge / Requirements Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university is preferred. Minimum of 12 years engineering experience. Experience must include specialized engineering involving major project management responsibilities and all phases of engineering support: problem formulation/specification, system design, data collection, systems engineering and analysis, problem resolution, and documentation of results. Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word‑processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail‑oriented work. Position may require travel. Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret or higher US Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance. Power Systems Design, develop, and implement electrical power systems, including transformers, motors, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, and switches. Develop and review one‑line diagrams, elementary diagrams, and three‑line diagrams. Analyze existing electrical systems and recommend improvements for efficiency and safety. Perform short circuit and load flow analysis. Select and specify electrical equipment based on project requirements. Control Systems Design and develop control systems using PLCs (experience with Allen‑Bradley preferred). Configure and program network switches for industrial applications. Develop and interpret logic diagrams. Implement SCADA systems (experience with Foxboro and/or iFIX a plus). Integrate control systems with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, HVAC). Work Environment This position is on‑site only. Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight and speech abilities, constant mental alertness, planning and organizing skills, and ability to work under deadlines. Some positions involve environments such as shipboard, labs, or outside locations where mechanical equipment, weapons, and other hazardous systems may be installed, tested, and monitored. Equipment may be loud and noisy or have exposed moving components. Such positions may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying; constant use of vision and mental alertness is required. Compensation Details $100,000 - $140,000. The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
