Assistant Property Manager - Multifamily
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of our multifamily residential communities. This role involves assisting with property leasing, tenant relations, administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks such as LIHTC, Section 8, and Fair Housing laws. Responsibilities
Assist in managing leasing processes, including property tours, application processing, and lease signing using tools like Yardi and OneSite.
Support rent collection, data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate resident records.
Coordinate property maintenance requests and work with facilities management teams to ensure timely resolution.
Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, landlord-tenant laws, and Section 8 program requirements.
Handle customer service inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and courtesy.
Assist in marketing efforts through upselling available units or services to prospective tenants.
Support legal administrative tasks such as reviewing contracts and lease agreements.
Manage conflict resolution between tenants or staff effectively while maintaining positive relationships.
Maintain organized files and documentation related to property operations, contracts, and compliance reports.
Collaborate with leasing agents, maintenance teams, and property owners to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Experience
Prior experience in property management or real estate administrative roles is preferred.
Knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8 housing programs, Landlord-Tenant law, and Fair Housing regulations is highly desirable.
Experience with property management software such as Yardi, or similar platforms is a plus.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management situations professionally.
Office experience involving data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and administrative support is required.
