HVAC Commissioning Lead
CAI is seeking an experienced HVAC Commissioning Lead to support the planning and execution of commissioning activities for mission critical facilities, including life sciences, semi-conductor, and manufacturing facilities. This role will lead all aspects of mechanical system commissioning, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operate in accordance with design intent and client requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, leadership experience in the field, and the ability to manage commissioning efforts across multiple stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and execute HVAC commissioning activities across all project phases (design, construction, testing, and turnover)Develop and review commissioning plans, test procedures, MOPs, SOOs, and checklistsOversee functional performance testing (FPT) and integrated systems testing (IST)Perform design reviews to ensure alignment with Basis of Design (BOD) and Owner Project Requirements (OPR)Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure project successConduct QA/QC inspections of HVAC equipment installations and startup activitiesTroubleshoot system deficiencies and support resolution effortsLead site activities, including scheduling, execution, and reportingProvide daily/weekly commissioning reports and updates to project leadershipSupport and enforce site safety standards and best practicesMentor junior engineers and techniciansQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of HVAC commissioning experience, preferably in mission critical environmentsStrong understanding of mechanical system designExperience with commissioning processes, testing methodologies, and documentationAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and specificationsFamiliarity with BAS/BMS systems and controls integrationExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and leadership abilitiesPreferred QualificationsCertifications such as CxA, CCP, LEED, or PEExperience with tools such as CxAlloy, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar platformsKnowledge of TAB processes and mechanical trend analysisTravel Requirements* Ability to travel up to 75% (project dependent)* Must be willing to work in active construction environmentsAbout CAICAI is a 100% employee-owned company established in 1996, that has grown year over year to more than 800 people worldwide.
