If you're passionate about education, process improvement, and elevating standards of care, we'd love to meet you.Lead structured training programs for new and experienced technicians, ensuring core competencies are met within 90 daysDeliver advanced training modules such as Tech T-levels and specialized diagnostic testingProvide one-on-one coaching to build skill mastery and support career advancementTrack and document training progress, reporting outcomes to leadershipEnsure compliance with HIPAA, MIPS, and internal policiesReview documentation accuracy, safety practices, and patient interaction standardsSupport proper handling and disposal of medical informationCollaborate with leadership to improve workflows, training processes, and technician engagementAssist with clinical research activities, including coordinating studies, scheduling participants, managing documentation, and ensuring GCP complianceAct as a liaison between providers, research teams, and participantsIdentify opportunities to enhance patient flow, efficiency, and quality of careAdapt to evolving clinic needs with flexibilityPerform additional duties as assignedSkills you will train on:Visual Testing:Visual acuity, color vision, stereopsis, Worth 4-Dot, Hirschberg, EOM testingAnterior & Posterior Segment Diagnostics:Slit lamp exam, pachymetry, Van Herick technique, OCT, fundus photographyRefraction & Optics:Autorefraction, retinoscopy, and phoropter useIntraocular Pressure Testing:Applanation, iCare, TonopenVisual Fields:Humphrey Visual Field testing with basic interpretationPatient Preparation & Education:Medical history taking, dilation, medication instillation, and patient instructionSurgical Support:Biometry (IOL Master/Lenstar), A-scans, keratometry, cataract evaluation workupsRequirements:Strong knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostics, workflows, and clinical best practicesUnderstanding of healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, MIPS)Experience with clinical research coordination (GCP certification a plus)Ability to train, mentor, and engage staff across diverse learning stylesExcellent communication, organizational, and leadership skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office or Google WorkspaceHigh attention to detail and strong interpersonal skillsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCOA or COT certification preferredMinimum 3 years of ophthalmic technician experience, including training or supervisory responsibilitiesExperience in compliance oversight or clinical research coordination preferredMust maintain required licensure, certifications, and trainingCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive pay: $24–$35/hrMedical, dental, and vision insuranceRobust ancillary benefits401(k) with employer contributionCompany-paid life insuranceGenerous PTO and paid holidaysSupportive, inclusive work culture – EEO employerIf you're ready to make a lasting impact, empower others, and help elevate clinical excellence, this is the perfect next step in your ophthalmic career.
