Manage the Asset Protection department. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reportsDeliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer serviceMaximize sales and sales marginsReduce customer and associate dishonesty by initiating action to identify high theft areas and by investigating and apprehending individuals involved in both internal and external theftMonitor large shrink areas in storesProvide credible court testimonyImplement corporate and divisional service, merchandising and operating requirementsMaintain knowledge of corporate and divisional merchandising plans, expectations and timetablesAchieve department and store financial objectives/goalsDevelop, implement and assess weekly work schedules and adjust those schedules as necessaryConduct internal investigationsMinimize exposure to civil liabilityVerify electronic article surveillance (EAS) is being utilized and maintainedParticipate in safety meetingsCo-chair/attend shrink meetingsPrepare missing merchandise reportsPromote associate participation in the Fred Meyer Incentive Award ProgramMaintain compliance with corporate policiesPromote and follow company initiativesMaintain compliance with all safety guidelines and standardsCommunicate and collaborate with corporate associates to support asset protection initiativesWork with associates to manage all common associate areas (e.g., break rooms and training areas) to ensure they are inviting in appearance and reflect "Our People Are Great" initiativesMaintain flexibility to work any shift and weekends on a regular basisMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQUALIFICATIONS MinimumHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one year experience in retail asset protection or a combination of relevant education and experienceMinimum 18 years of age/21 in AlaskaAbility to pass a drug testAbility to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentialityAbility to organize/prioritize tasks/projectsFamiliarity with asset protection terms and processesAbility to make independentjudgments with minimal supervisionAbility to continue educationAbility to pass a criminal background checkValid drivers licenseAbility to pass all state and federal private security requirements for licensing or certificationDesiredKnowledge of company policies, procedures and organizational structureStrong interrogation/interviewing skills
