Packaging Engineer

Job Title: Packaging Engineer – Food / CPG / Packaging Development Location: Suffolk, VA (Relocation Package Available) – Open to candidates in St. Charles, IL; Nashville, TN; or Omaha, NE Pay: $75,000–$85,000 + $7,500 bonus potential + annual merit increase Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM About Our Client: ExecuSource is hiring on behalf of a leading food industry company known for delivering safe, high-quality products while driving innovation in packaging solutions. They are looking for: An experienced Packaging Engineer to lead packaging projects from concept to commercialization. You will work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and vendors to develop and optimize packaging that showcases products, ensures efficiency, and maintains safety standards. This is a direct hire opportunity with travel to multiple company locations. What you get to do: Lead packaging projects for new product development and optimization of existing products. Collaborate with suppliers, production plants, marketing, and cross-functional teams. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality packaging standards. Support operational teams with packaging troubleshooting and improvements. Travel 1–2 weeks per month to locations such as St. Charles, IL; Nashville, TN; and Omaha, NE. What you need to succeed: Bachelor’s degree + 2 years’ relevant experience, or Associate’s + 4 years, or High School + 6 years experience in packaging, R&D, or related fields. Experience with packaging projects and vendor collaboration (food experience preferred but not required). Knowledge of packaging materials, equipment, and processes; transferable experience from CPG, electronics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics/personal care, industrial products, or e-commerce packaging is valued. Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
