Seasonal Dock Hand

Reports to: TopSider SupervisorTopSiders are dockhands for fuel and rental boats that assist in serving customers. TopSiders perform a critical role in creating the best experience for customers and should be proud of their work when customers provide positive feedback.Duties And ResponsibilitiesMaintain the dock, marina facilities, tools, equipment and provide a safe environment for customersCheck out and check in rental boats to customers. Guide customers to their rental boats and provide safety and general information in a friendly and courteous manner (see “How to Treat Our Customers and Co-Workers” for detailed steps)Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist customers with rental form agreementsMonitor dock area, distribute life jackets, and ensure proper usage, clean interior, and exterior of boatsHelp with undocking and securing boats to docks. Fuel and refuel boats if required and inspect if all safety supplies are present on the boats.Check dock lines and utility supplies as necessary during changing weather conditionsFacilitate cleanliness of the marina, pump-out, and waste disposalEnsure adherence to departmental and / or operations policies, procedures, and practicesPerform such duties as assigned by the TopSider SupervisorMinimum Qualifications And RequirementsAct with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitudeBe hospitable, enthusiastic, and people-friendlyNo prior experience is needed, but a prior job in a service setting is a plus!Can work in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to work on a team and be able to work well with co-workersCommercial awareness and an eye for detail in all aspects of workAbility to work well under all conditions, especially handle extreme weather conditionsMust be able to swim and be comfortable working around waterAbility to clearly communicate and relate well with customersCompany SummaryTopSide Marinas was cofounded in 2020 as a family-owned company that acquires, owns, and operates high-quality marinas across the country.
