SummarySEASONAL**This Position runs from June 15, 2026 through September 4, 2026 for Program Training and Prep as well as Program Tear Down. Children will be in attendance June 15th through September 4th. This position is FULLY outside on site.We are looking for teachers who are enthusiastic about quality Early Childhood Education, love children, and believe in nature immersion. Ideal candidates will be experienced with young children in a group setting, have the ability to provide individualized care while monitoring a group of children, be willing to spend time outdoors rain or shine, have knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practice, and possess a calm demeanor. This is a collaborative teaching environment, therefore this person must possess the desire and communication skills necessary to work as part of a team as well as the passion for longevity and community building. A love for the outdoors, experiential learning, and learning through play are necessary for this position!DutiesLead Teachers will be responsible for the following and more as listed in Job Description:Maintaining audio/visual supervision of a group of 10-20 childrenTransitioning children from space to space and activity to activityImplementing curriculum based upon a monthly structure that is relevant to the group and builds on developmental goalsMaintaining Health and Safety standards through routine wellness checks and environmental cleaning/maintenanceCommunicating with a teaching team needs, wants, hopes, etc. RequirementsMust be healthy and have the stamina for a full day OUTDOORS with childrenAbility to communicate effectively and collaborate with the students, families, public, supervisors and co-workers The ability to multitask, assess children's needs & prioritize these needs as appropriateAn up-to-date Merit AccountCurrent "Portable Background Check" from WA State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF)Proof of Negative TB Testing (per WAC 170-295-1120)Current CPR & 1st Aid - certification includes pediatric and adult (per WAC 170-295-1100)Bloodborne Pathogens/HIV Training (per WAC 170-295-1110)The Department of Children, Youth, and Families' Child Care BasicsNice To HavesEarly Childhood Degree (CDA or higher) or enrollment in a program (not necessary for Summer Program)Experience with Google WorkspaceExperience with Curriculum DevelopmentExperience with Outdoor SchoolingExperience with GardeningBenefitsBenefits~NOT APPLICABLE TO SEASONAL POSITIONS~5% one time hourly raise after one year of employment to contribute towards a Health Savings Account to be set up independent of employer40 hours maximum of vacation pay at current state minimum wage after one year of employment and each year thereafter (accrued at a rate of 1 hour per 40 hours worked)Unused paid vacation time can be paid out in the last paycheck of each year each year after two years of employment (paid December 15th) OR accrued to a max amount of 80 hoursVacation pay can be cashed out upon Parental Leave after two years of employment and each year thereafterPaid Holiday Time per WCC subsidy payment for the following days (if we are closed) after one year of employment and each year thereafter paid for 8 hours at current wage.Each employee is assigned 3 unpaid Personal Days per year - unpaid personal days expire at the end of each year with no option to accrueAccrued Sick Pay per Washington State Guidelines (1 hour per 40 hours worked)
