PMHNP
About Our Company:
MindWell Mental Healthcare of Kentucky LLC is a growing, mission-driven psychiatric practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, ethical, and compassionate mental health care.
We support clinicians who value clinical autonomy while working within a collaborative practice alongside other experienced psychiatric providers and an in-office Office Administrator.
Serving individuals across Kentucky through in-office and telehealth services, we foster a supportive, respectful environment where PMHNPs are trusted to practice independently, while having access to collegial support, shared coverage, and professional collaboration.
We are intentional about sustainable growth and do not operate as a high-volume or quota-driven practice.
The Opportunity:
We are adding to our team and are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join an established outpatient private mental health practice serving Commercial insurance and Kentucky Medicaid patients.
This position is structured to support steady, sustainable growth. The patient panel is active and increasing, but not yet at full capacity, allowing for a thoughtful ramp-up rather than an immediately overbooked schedule. We prioritize quality care, realistic expectations, and long-term stability over volume-driven productivity.
This role is well-suited for a clinician who is comfortable practicing independently, values safe and ethical prescribing, and appreciates working within a collaborative practice environment.
What You’ll Do:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide medication management visits
Diagnose and treat individuals aged 5 years through 65 years old.
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in compliance with Kentucky and federal regulations.
Maintain timely, audit-ready documentation.
Use appropriate E/M billing coding for all documentation.
Collaborate as clinically appropriate or needed.
Visit volumes and scheduling expectations are structured collaboratively and are not productivity-quota driven.
Required Qualifications (Please Read Carefully)
Active Kentucky APRN, PMHNP license.
Board-certified PMHNP.
Minimum 3 years of outpatient psychiatric experience required.
Active DEA registration.
Experience in safely managing all psychiatric conditions.
Comfortable working with commercial insurance and Kentucky Medicaid.
What We Offer
1099 contract position.
Flexible scheduling within office hours with realistic productivity expectations.
Full administrative, billing, and credentialing support.
An established referral base with steadily increasing patient demand, allowing for a gradual and supported panel build.
Marketing.
A provider-led, safe, ethical, and patient-friendly practice environment.
Scheduling and visit volume expectations are structured collaboratively, with no pressure to overbook or compromise clinical judgment to accelerate growth.
This Role Is a Good Fit For:
This role is a strong fit for an experienced PMHNP who values autonomy, ethical care, and steady growth within a supportive private practice environment. It may not be the best fit for someone seeking an immediately full-time caseload in the first weeks.
