Maintenance Technician

SummaryResponsible for all maintenance of JBQ plant. Must execute the highest standards of shift performance and maintenance while maintaining a clean, sanitary and safe work environment. Hours may vary depending on production schedule.Essential FunctionsPerform PM, trouble shooting and maintenance on all equipment in RAW, Smoke House, RTE, Building and grounds areas.Ability to diagnose and call outside service technician if neededMaintain, diagnose, and assist technician on Refrigeration systemMaintains all documentation and logs for PM maintenance program (Open Wrench) and auditsInform management promptly of all problems or significant concernsAssists with pre-op of equipmentContinuously maintains a neat, clean, organized, safe and comfortable environment.Support installation and start-up of new equipment or upgradesAssist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiativesMaintains spare parts inventoryFollows all safety / food safety guidelinesAdheres to all company standards, policies, and procedures.In addition, other duties may be assigned as the needs arise.Education, Experience And Abilities3-5 years maintenance experience preferredStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience with industrial equipment such as motors, pumps, and conveyorsFamiliarity with food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP/USDA preferred)Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.Ability to be self-motivated and take initiative.Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Requires adherence to strict hygiene and food safety regulations.Meat processing facility with exposure to cold, wet, hot and noisy conditionsAbility to perform the physical requirements of the job, including bending, reaching, stooping, twisting, lifting, standing, walking, repetitive motion and the use of heavy machinery.Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes that occur on the production line.Use of protective clothing such as gloves, smocks, hairnets, and steel-toe bootsAbility to lift up to 50lbs individuallyPlant and Employee SafetyNo piercings or jewelry is allowed on the manufacturing floorSafety Processes and protocol must be followed at all timesThe safety of ergonomics and lifting practices must be followed at all times.Any injury must be reported to management immediatelyDedicated non-Slip shoes must be worn at all times in the plantAll Safety Training must be completed within the determined deadlineLock Out Tag Out processes must be followed at all timesThe use of provided GMP’s and PPE must be worn before entering the production floor – examples include: Cut gloves, Safety Glasses, Hairnet, Beard nets, Gloves, and Smocks.The correct color-coded Smocks must be worn in the identified area of the plantBlue – RAW OnlyWhite – General Production FloorEQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND INCLUSION STATEMENTJack Stack BBQ is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind.Jack Stack BBQ is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
