Shrewsbury Public Schools is seeking a full-time assistant director of extended learning. We are interested in candidates who are invested in the achievement, equity, and access of all learners in and beyond the classroom. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $68,000-$77,250.
The Assistant Director of Extended Learning will play a critical role in ensuring that out-of-school time programs operate smoothly, meet quality standards, and provide safe, enriching experiences for students. Through effective leadership, accountability, and collaboration, the Assistant Director strengthens the capacity of staff, enhances family engagement, and contributes to the overall success of district out-of-school time services.
This is a full time, full year position. Must be available during February and April school vacations and 4-5 weeks of summer programming.

Qualifications
Leadership experience in programs serving school age children
Exceptional organization and time management skills
Adept with technology: Eleyo, Powerschool, Excel, Google Suite, Canva, Munis
Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Understanding of the needs and behaviors of students in grades K-6
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Extended Learning with daily operations of before-school and after-school programs in six buildings, and with a variety of enrichment programs that take place outside of school hours.
Assume the responsibilities of the Director in their absence.
Oversee licensing requirements, including maintaining student and staff records, and monitoring sites for compliance.
Coordinate purchasing across multiple sites and multiple programs.
Develop and oversee professional development opportunities for staff.
Co-coordinate enrichment programs during school vacations and summer.
Contribute to the design of new initiatives and enhancements for Shrewsbury students and families.
Collaborate with the director to develop new systems for recruiting and training staff, substitutes and volunteers.
Ensure site coordinators have the resources, tools and information needed to perform effectively.
Build partnerships with key school personnel to ensure best practices for all students.
Assist in managing high-priority incidents with student behavior or parent concerns.
Initiate new methods of promoting extended learning and enrichment programs.
Fill in for absent staff when substitutes are unavailable.
Assist with program registration, invoicing and fee collection.
Monitor financial accounts, act as liaison to district accounting and operations specialists.
