Specialized Psychologist for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
JOB SUMMARY:This is a psychology post within a collaborative and expanding consultation liaison (CL) psychiatry service at CCAD. This role offers the opportunity to work within an MDT team and provide psychological care to patients with medical and behavioral needs. Successful candidate will contribute to a broad hospital wide case load that includes patients with neurological conditions, pain disorders, sleep problems and cancers. Other responsibilities will include supporting patients in the transplant and bariatric pathways and with adjustment to illness. There will also be an opportunity to develop specialist areas of interest.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitors and provides care to patients at CCAD within the Psychology specialtyAdminister therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injuryAnalyzes records, reports and test results to diagnose patient's medical conditionInteracts with patient to gather additional history and information about medical conditionExplains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patientProvides specific treatments to treat patient medical conditionsEvaluates patient and records applicable notes about patient's condition for purposes of serving as a record of treatment and / or a possible referral to another member of the health care professional teamLiaisons with other medical and non-medical staff at CCAD to ensure quality patient treatmentSupplies and provides care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive mannerTakes part in administrative functions that ensure the continued operations of the clinical environment, such as committees, task forces and performance improvement measuresProvide hospital on-call in patient coverage as deemed necessaryFollows ethical and regulatory guidelinesAdheres to individual approved clinical privileges, as well as to all policies and procedures of the Physician StaffEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:DOH licensure of licensure eligibility in the Emirates of Abu DhabiShould meet the Maintenance of Certification requirements (where applicable)Possess experience in psychological assessment and provision of evidenced based treatment of patients diagnosed with chronic health conditionsDemonstrated exceptional customer service skills with patients, staff and other physiciansAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staffAbility to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data at all timesAbility to speak and write in English is requiredEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor degree in the field of psychology and Postgraduate Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D., D.Clin.Psy) from an approved psychology faculty or an educational faculty with focus on psychologyBachelor degree in the field of psychology and Postgraduate full time Master's degree (includes MSc, MA, M.Phil) of minimum two (2) years from a psychology faculty or an educational faculty with focus on psychology provided that the bachelor degree is minimum four (4) years duration
