King High SchoolAdditional Information: Show/HidePrimary Purpose:Provide students with rigorous, engaging instruction in mathematics through a STEM-focused approach that integrates science, technology, engineering, and real-world problem solving. The STEM Math Teacher will foster critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, and analytical reasoning skills to prepare students for college, careers, and industry certifications in STEM-related fields.Qualifications:Education/Certification:* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university* Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Math certification (e.g., Mathematics 712 or equivalent)Special Knowledge/Skills:Strong content knowledge in Algebra I/II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, or other advanced math coursesUnderstanding of STEM integration strategies and project-based learningKnowledge of instructional technology tools (Desmos etc.)Ability to analyze student performance data and adjust instructionStrong classroom management and relationship-building skillsExperience:* Student teaching or classroom teaching experience preferred* Experience integrating STEM, robotics, engineering concepts, or coding into math instruction preferredMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional Planning & DeliveryDevelop and implement lesson plans aligned with TEKS and district curriculum.Design STEM-based, project-driven lessons that connect mathematics to real-world applications.Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including SPED, 504, EB, and GT students.Incorporate technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.Student Achievement & Data AnalysisAnalyze assessment data to drive instructional decisions.Support students in meeting performance expectations on STAAR, SAT, ACT, TSI, and other assessments.Provide tutoring, interventions, and enrichment as needed.Classroom EnvironmentEstablish and maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment.Promote collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.Professional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in professional development related to STEM, curriculum, and instructional best practices.Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and interdisciplinary STEM initiatives.Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.Follow district policies and procedures.Supervisory Responsibilities:Supervise assigned students and classroom paraprofessionals (if applicable).Working Conditions:Maintain emotional control under stress.Frequent standing, walking, and classroom movement.May require occasional after-school tutoring, STEM events, competitions, or robotics activities.Salary is commensurate with experienceMinimum Salary $66,000 for fully certified teachersPlease note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.Sheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through March 2, 2026.
