Structural Engineer

Overview As a Structural Engineer at HDR, you contribute to designing critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and human experience. You collaborate with architects and engineers to drive projects from design through construction, mentoring junior staff and coordinating multiple disciplines. You ensure code-compliant, efficient, and resilient structures while engaging with clients and regulators. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with architects and discipline leads to develop designs and lead small project teams or mentor EITsIndependently coordinate the structural design work through design development and contract documentsLead meetings with governing agencies to ensure code compliancePerform design development and site-based sessions with the PM and other disciplinesCoordinate workload across design development and construction document phases to meet schedulesCoordinate with affected disciplines on RFI, change proposals, and change orders; incorporate changes into documentsPerform site visits and lead construction administration effortsWrite and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials, and sizes, and perform calculationsReview structural documents for conflicts and adherence to standardsPerform other duties as needed Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license (or equivalent)Previous structural engineer experienceExperience with design tools: AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similarMicrosoft Office experienceExperience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmsActive participation in employee-owned cultureStrong communication skillsEmerging leadership aptitudeEntrepreneurial spiritMicrosoft OfficeAutoCADRISA
