Apply now for priority consideration when hiring begins in January 2026!**Jeffrey Summer Camp Counselors work with children in a day camp setting over the summer months. Camp Counselors supervise young campers and make sure they have fun and safe summer. The job duties of a Camp Counselor include supervising a group of kids while playing summer camp games, doing art projects, walks in the woods, and playing at the pool.Counselors must be age 16 or older to work in our school-age camp program; Counselors must be age 18 or older to work in our preschool camp program.ResponsibilitiesPlan group activities for downtime throughout the week taking into account children's age groups and interestsEscort and oversee childrenEducate campers through games and explorationsResolve occasional fights between children and address behavioral issuesMake sure all safety rules are followedEnsure camping site is clean and that campers don't litter recreational areas or naturePerform first aid or take care of injuries as neededKeep accurate incident logsQualificationsMust be 16 years of age or older to work in our school-age programMust be 18 years of age of older to work in our preschool programMust be able to pass a BCI/FBI criminal background checkMust comply with all ODJFS hiring standardsMust be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification upon hireKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProven experience as Camp Counselor or similar role working with childrenPatient and reliableOrganizational and communication skillsA love for childrenEnergetic and positive personalityAbility to meet the physical demands of the job (being outdoors for a half day)First Aid/CPR Certification is preferredRegular and predictable attendance is requiredThe City of Bexley is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
