Substance Abuse Counselor

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping individuals struggling with substance abuse and providing them with the necessary support and guidance to overcome their challenges. Responsibilities - Conduct patient assessments to determine the level of care needed - Provide addiction counseling and individual/group therapy sessions - Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients - Utilize crisis management techniques when necessary - Offer PTSD care for patients dealing with trauma-related issues - Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with coding standards such as ICD-10 - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively Skills - Proficient in patient care and assessment techniques - Knowledge of addiction medicine and counseling practices - Experience in crisis management and handling high-stress situations - Ability to conduct individual and group therapy sessions effectively - Familiarity with coding standards like ICD-10 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction - Must be a licensed substance abuse counselor in Maryland * Signing bonus offered Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $26.99 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week Experience: Addiction counseling: 1 year (Required) Ability to Commute: Baltimore, MD 21215 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Baltimore, MD 21215: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
