Payroll/Finance Generalist The Payroll/Finance Generalist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while supporting various financial operations within the organization. This position is responsible for managing payroll activities, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis. The role requires collaboration with multiple departments to ensure seamless financial transactions and data integrity. The Payroll/Finance Generalist contributes to the continuous improvement of payroll and finance processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Ultimately, this position supports the organization's financial health by ensuring employees are compensated correctly and financial records are maintained with precision. Location hybrid role in Havelock, NC or Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing and general finance functions. Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in the United States. Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Must have Deltek/CostPoint experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with HRIS systems such as ADP. Familiarity with financial reporting standards and internal audit processes. Experience working in a multi-state payroll environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities: Process and administer payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, deductions, benefits, and tax filings, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries related to payroll and general finance. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, including invoice processing and vendor communications. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies, update employee information, and implement process improvements. Prepare and submit required payroll tax reports and filings to federal, state, and local agencies. Generate financial reports and assist in budget preparation and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements related to payroll and financial transactions. Skills: The Payroll/Finance Generalist utilizes their payroll expertise daily to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, applying knowledge of tax laws and compliance to avoid errors and penalties. Financial skills are employed to assist with reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting, supporting the broader finance team in maintaining accurate financial records. Proficiency in payroll and ERP software enables efficient processing and data management, while advanced Excel skills facilitate data analysis and report generation. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with HR, finance, and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
