Land Surveyor
We're looking for a skilled Land Surveyor to lead boundary and construction survey projects, including ALTA/NSPS surveys, plats, legal descriptions, and construction staking. It’s this collective passion that drives excellence in everything we do.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesParticipates in multiple, ongoing client meetings, from the preliminary meeting to the final steps of obtaining signatures on final products.Demonstrates ability to execute various platting and certificates of surveys, survey projects in various stages while understanding the surveying process in multiple geographic areas and municipalities.Researches public records, previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for ongoing surveys.Reviews field notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.Meets with officials, property owners, engineers, and project managers to determine changes that need to be made, if any.Requires the ability to calculate all aspects of surveys including section subdivisions, lot dimensions, areas, volumes, cut and fills, etc.Responsible for attending planning commission meetings, when required, and answer questions regarding the development of the client’s property.Maintains current knowledge of zoning and regulations, schedules, fees, and guidelines for multiple municipalities and counties.Ability to build and maintain good relations with clients.Understands the necessity of confidentiality of client information.Performs fieldwork or site visits as needed.Other duties as assigned.Qualification RequirementsRegistered Land Surveyor certification requiredOne to Five years of experience as a Registered Land Surveyor Part 107 licensure is preferred Has knowledge of surveying ethics and technical standardsAbility to manage multiple projectsMust be able to operate all survey field equipment (GPS, Robotic, Total Station)Observes company and client safety requirementsAbility to perform physical work (i.e. strenuous walking, hauling equipment, etc.)Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurableMoore Engineering, Inc.'s culture is built on core values such as Respect, Integrity, Accountability, Loyalty, and Kindness:Respect: Valuing all viewpoints and cultural differences.Integrity: Maintaining consistency, honesty, and commitment to safety and welfare.Accountability: Taking responsibility for actions and commitments.Loyalty: Being dependable and building trust-based relationships.Kindness: Caring for co-workers, friends, families, and communities.These values guide our operations, and employees are hired, reviewed, rewarded, and recognized based on these characteristics. The range displayed on this job posting reflects salaries for the position based in our Minnesota locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by specific work location and additional factors, including education, experience, credentials, and job-related skills. In addition to base pay, certain positions at Vistal and subsidiaries are eligible for participation in our incentive compensation programs.
