Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Float Pool Job Details: - Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM - Float between multiple units including ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU across both campuses - May include inpatients holding in ED - Every other weekend requirement - Holiday requirements include travelers in permanent staff rotation - Nurse to patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6 - Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts with 80% score prior to signing contract - Required certifications: BLS and ACLS - Must have at least 1 year of ICU experience - Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin - Must be able to interpret telemetry strips - Common patient types include geriatric patients, orthopedic patients, post-procedural cardiac patients, post MI, post cardiac catheterization, and CABG post-op day 3-4 - Unit assignments communicated via text message 2 hours prior to shift start - Standby requirement possible when excessive staffing occurs - Scrub color requirement: solid color professional scrubs (changing to Navy scrubs in October) - 32-hour orientation includes 8-hour general hospital orientation, 12-hour shift at West MedTele, and 12-hour shift at PCU - Charting system: Cerner - Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time - Night shift may accommodate block scheduling requests - Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract (3 shifts if contract under 13 weeks) Facility: This regional medical center operates across two campuses providing comprehensive acute care services.
