Controls Engineer - Electrical Designer

Job Description Electrical Designer As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for creating the necessary documentation for the manufacturing of industrial ultrasonic welding machines. This role requires proficiency in 2D CAD electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, as well as creating BOMs (Bills of Materials), cable summaries, and associated diagrams and manuals. You will collaborate with electrical engineers, electricians, and outside contractors for the construction of control panels and junction boxes. Additionally, you'll interact with the mechanical engineering team to integrate pneumatics into the electrical design.Responsibilities:Develop electrical schematics and 2D industrial control panel layouts.Create and manage Bill of Materials, wiring, and cable reports.Coordinate with the electrical department and external vendors for the construction of control panels.Assist electricians with design-related questions and updates.Organize and maintain the CAD library, ensuring coordination with the purchasing system.Qualifications/Skills:Associate’s degree in an electrical-related field, or equivalent experience with a high school diploma.Expertise in designing single-line diagrams for electromechanical systems.Strong proficiency in 2D Electrical CAD tools, particularly AutoCAD Electrical.Competence in power distribution design, including systems from 480VAC 3-phase to 240/120VAC and 24VDC.Ability to select appropriate wire sizes and overcurrent protection devices based on design requirements.Familiarity with discrete and analog I/O components for PLC integration (typically Allen-Bradley).Knowledge of Ethernet/IP network design and its connectivity within industrial schematics.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.Understanding of manufacturing processes and schedules.Ability to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.A team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.Electrical Designer, industrial ultrasonic welding machines, 2D CAD, AutoCAD Electrical, BOMs, cable summaries, electrical schematics, industrial control panel, Bill of Materials, wiring reports, cable reports, electrical department, control panels, electricians, CAD library, purchasing system, single-line diagrams, electromechanical systems, 2D Electrical CAD, power distribution design, 480VAC 3-phase, 240/120VAC, 24VDC, wire sizes, overcurrent protection, discrete I/O, analog I/O, PLC integration, Allen-Bradley, Ethernet/IP network, industrial schematics, Microsoft Office, manufacturing processes, production teams, team-orientedCompany DescriptionFlex is a leading engineering firm dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions.Company DescriptionFlex is a leading engineering firm dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions.
