Gain a thorough knowledge of professional merchandising in a Theme Park atmosphere, through assisting in a variety of merchandise operations.You must be currently at least 18 years of age and enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school degree program to participate. This program runs from May 18th through August 14th.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the scheduling and relief of team members within your assigned area.Attend and participate in meetings with Team Leads from across all merchandise locations.Design and provide input in the creation of merchandise store layouts.Learn and apply Herschend "Lead with Love" values in all host interactions.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to assist the Merchandise team.Learn time-keeping procedures.Learn performance review procedures.Assist with written communications.Help create and implement improvements in safety, guest excellence, profit contribution, and job satisfaction.Contribute to team-centered projects like surveys, appreciation events, team outings, and company events.Assist Supervisors and Team Leads with various projects.Complete one special project benefiting at least one area as determined by leadership.Stock shelves, counters, and/or tables with merchandise.Operate Point of Sale register following cash handling and credit card procedures.Ensure proper handling of customer credit card information in compliance with Property Procedures and Purchasing Card Industry (PCI) standards.Pick up, remove, and record the amount of cash in the register at the beginning and end of the shift.Wrap and bag merchandise for customers.Education and ExperienceMust be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in a related field of study.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The role will require occasional exposure to extreme heat and cold, wetness, dryness, heights, confined spaces, moderate to high noise levels, large crowds, and moving objects.
