Enterprise Quality Engineering Lead/Manager 6-Month Contract (with high possibility for extension and/or conversion)100% Remote Role SummaryThe Enterprise Quality Engineering Lead/Manager provides enterprise-wide leadership for quality strategy, automation, and governance across large-scale, cloud-based healthcare platforms. This role is accountable for ensuring reliability, security, compliance, and operational excellence across complex, integrated systems supporting pharmacists, clinical liaisons, and healthcare partners.The role partners closely with Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, Engineering, Security, and DevOps to embed quality into the full technology lifecycle while enabling rapid, low-risk delivery in a regulated healthcare environment.Enterprise Scope & AccountabilityOwn enterprise Quality Engineering strategy across multiple applications, services, and integration pointsEnsure consistent quality standards across distributed delivery teams and vendorsBalance speed, scalability, regulatory compliance, and system stabilityAct as a senior QE leader interfacing with engineering directors, architects, and business stakeholdersKey Responsibilities1. Enterprise Quality Strategy & GovernanceDefine and execute an enterprise Quality Engineering strategy aligned with organizational technology and compliance standardsEmbed shift-left and continuous quality practices across SDLC phases including requirements, architecture design, development, and release managementEstablish enterprise-level quality metrics and KPIs (defect leakage, automation ROI, test coverage, release risk)Standardize quality processes across programs while allowing flexibility for domain-specific needsSupport audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives2. Scalable Automation & Platform EnablementOwn the enterprise automation strategy covering UI, API, integration, regression, and smoke testingGuide teams in building scalable, reusable automation frameworks aligned with enterprise architecture standardsIntegrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, release orchestration, and cloud deployment workflowsEnsure automation supports high-availability, distributed, and microservices-based systemsEvaluate and govern test tooling to ensure long-term maintainability and cost efficiency3. Enterprise Systems & Integration QualityEnsure end-to-end quality coverage across multi-system integrations, third?party vendors, and partner platformsCollaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to validate performance, resilience, and failover scenariosSupport data integrity, security testing, and access control validation across enterprise systemsAdvocate for observability, production monitoring, and feedback loops to improve quality continuously4. Leadership, People & Organizational InfluenceLead and manage global Quality Engineering teams including managers, senior QE, and SDETsDrive hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and performance managementCoach teams toward enterprise SDET and quality ownership mindsetsPartner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Operations leaders to align quality strategy with enterprise objectivesFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and psychological safetyRequired Qualifications10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Engineering4+ years in people leadership or senior QE management rolesProven experience designing and executing enterprise-scale test automation strategiesStrong understanding of SDLC governance, Agile at scale, and DevOps practicesExperience working with executive stakeholders and cross-functional enterprise teamsPreferred / Nice-to-Have QualificationsExperience in Healthcare IT, Pharmacy Systems, or EMR/EHR platformsFamiliarity with HIPAA, PHI, and regulated data environmentsExperience supporting enterprise audits, security reviews, or compliance initiativesKnowledge of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, and third-party vendor ecosystemsExperience modernizing legacy systems or supporting digital transformation initiatives
