Maintenance Technician

Position SummaryTo work on the Thornwell facilities team, which maintains building heating and cooling systems, electrical systems, and plumbing systems, and performs other routine repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure facilities are safe and are in good order for Thornwell to deliver program services to our clients.Core ResponsibilitiesMaintain the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system and equipment.Perform general electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.Purchase and/or order repair parts and supplies.Perform general repairs and maintenance.Be on a 24-hour call rotation, as needed.Any other duties as required by the Director of Facilities.Working ConditionsBecause of the widely varied areas of this position, the successful candidate should be able and willing to work indoors or outside, in all temperatures and weather, as well as in basements, crawlspaces, and attics. The technician must be able to successfully lift heavy objects, operate heavy tools or equipment, and work in restrictive areas such as crawl spaces.QualificationsAssociate's degree in HVAC, five years of experience in HVAC and facilities services, or a combination of both. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with relative ease.SkillsThe maintenance technician must have the knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, electrical and plumbing systems, and all other machinery and equipment in our inventory.
