Veterinary Technician

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Oakwood Animal Hospital. As a vital part of our veterinary practice, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal welfare and be committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients.Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers, "above and beyond" customer service attitude, and efficiently multitask. Experience with AVImark Veterinary Software is a plus. Technician duties include but are not limited to: Client education, venipuncture, catheterization, and proper restraint, plus patient monitoring, surgery and much more!Duties:Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including animal restraint, surgery, and laboratory testsProvide exceptional pet careConduct animal husbandry tasks, including cleaning cages and maintaining a clean and safe environmentOperate veterinary equipment, such as X-ray machines, and perform routine lab testsMaintain accurate records of patient care and treatmentCollaborate with veterinarians to develop and implement patient care plansParticipate in assisting with routine veterinary proceduresProvide veterinary critical care, including monitoring patients and administering medications as neededQualifications:CVT, LVT, or RVT - PrefferedHave experience in animal care and handlingFamiliarity with animal restraint techniquesProven knowledge of veterinary laboratory proceduresStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to lift, stand, and sit for extended periodsWillingness to work flexible hours - No weekends!Strong passion for animal welfare and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to clientsSkills:Proficiency in veterinary critical careExperience with laboratory tests and proceduresExperience with animal restraint techniquesFamiliarity with pet care and the ability to provide exceptional care to our patientsStrong understanding of veterinary procedures and protocols and surgical proceduresExperience with X-ray machines and routine lab testsCertification or Licensing as a veterinary technicianExperience with veterinary technician duties and responsibilitiesNational Veterinary Associates is a leading global pet care organization united in the love of animals and the people who love them.
