We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support and enhance a complex multi-tenant web application environment hosted primarily within a VMware-based data center infrastructure with growing Azure integrations. This role is responsible for infrastructure reliability, platform operations, automation, CI/CD pipeline support, backups, monitoring, and operational support across Linux, Tomcat, and DB2 technologies.The ideal candidate combines strong Linux systems administration expertise with infrastructure management, automation experience, troubleshooting skills, and a proactive operational mindset.Applicants for this remote role will only be considered if they live in these locations: Arizona, California, Colorado, Washington DC, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin.Please note – This is a regular full-time position. This is not a contracted (1099) role.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support multi-tenant production, staging, and development environmentsManage Linux-based infrastructure supporting Tomcat application servers and DB2 databasesMaintain and optimize VMware virtual infrastructure within the corporate data centerSupport Azure integrations, IaaS scripting (IAC), and hybrid-cloud connectivitySupport and maintain CI/CD pipeline infrastructure and automation toolingPartner with development teams to improve build reliability, deployment automation, and operational efficiencyMonitor system performance, availability, capacity, and security across all environmentsManage backup strategies, disaster recovery procedures, and restore testingTroubleshoot infrastructure, application, database, and networking issues across environmentsImplement and maintain infrastructure automation and operational scriptingMaintain system configurations, middleware services, and environment consistencyCollaborate with software engineering, database administration, security, and infrastructure teamsDevelop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and system diagramsParticipate in after-hours support and incident response as neededEnsure environments meet security, compliance, and operational standardsAssist with capacity planning, system scaling, and high-availability initiativesSupport load balancing, SSL certificate management, DNS, and related infrastructure servicesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience5+ years of DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering experience5+ years of advanced experience administering in Linux server environments 5+ years of experience managing Apache Tomcat environments in production 5+ years of experience supporting DB2 database environments Experience administering VMware and Hyper-V infrastructure in enterprise data centersExperience supporting backup and disaster recovery solutionsFamiliarity with Azure services and hybrid-cloud integrationsExperience supporting CI/CD tooling and automation frameworksExperience with scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similarStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, including firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and SSL/TLSExperience with monitoring and logging platformsStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skillsExperience supporting high-availability production systemsRegular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this jobPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting multi-tenant SaaS or enterprise web application environmentsExperience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similarFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management toolsExperience with containerization technologiesExperience with security hardening and vulnerability remediationKnowledge of performance tuning for Linux, Tomcat, and DB2VMware or Azure certificationsSoft SkillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong documentation and organizational skillsSelf-motivated with strong ownership mentalityContinuous improvement mindsetWork Schedule - Full time.
