Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Power CommissioningLocation: Eagle Mountain, UT - OnsiteDuration: 24 MonthsAbout the RoleJoin a high-impact team driving power innovation and energy system commissioning. As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable startup of power systems through hands-on testing, validation, and troubleshooting. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy infrastructure in a dynamic, field-based environment.What You’ll DoLead and support electrical commissioning, startup, and system turnover activitiesTest and validate power equipment including switchgear, transformers, and generatorsPerform and oversee electrical testing (insulation resistance, relay testing, functional checks)Support pre-commissioning tasks such as loop checks and calibrationValidate power system studies and ensure readiness for energizationCollaborate with cross-functional teams (construction, controls, operations)Troubleshoot and resolve field issues during commissioningEnsure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and safety standardsSupport integration of power generation and energy storage systemsMaintain documentation (test records, reports, turnover packages)Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or commissioningKnowledge of power equipment (switchgear, transformers, generators)Experience reading electrical drawings and one-line diagramsFamiliarity with commissioning, testing, and startup processesTechnical SkillsExperience with tools like ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or MATLABKnowledge of protection relays and electrical testing equipment (Omicron, Megger, Doble)Understanding of arc flash analysis and protection coordinationExposure to SCADA/DCS systems and grid integrationWork EnvironmentField-based role supporting active construction and commissioning sitesHands-on work in industrial environments with strict safety standards
