The University's 2,600 staff help create an annual economic impact for the Piedmont Triad region in excess of $1B.Primary Purpose of the Organizational UnitThe Department of Communication Studies is a vibrant community of 14 full-time faculty with expertise across a range of communication subdisciplines, including interpersonal, organizational, health, environmental, digital, and instructional communication. Our researchers advance scholarship using social scientific, interpretive, and community-engaged methodologies (including qualitative, rhetorical, auto/ethnographic, and narrative approaches).All department instructors leverage their diverse expertise to prepare students to build strong relationships, collaborate and lead effectively, craft audience-centered messages, and drive meaningful change across varied contexts. Teaching in the department emphasizes engaged and experiential learning, reflecting a commitment to the practical application of communication theory and concepts. The department's BA program enrolls over 200 students, while the MA program serves approximately 20.Position SummaryThe Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Communicating Innovation.
