To value and promote the worth of each participant while effectively leading players and staff to achieve their individual and collective potential. Work is performed under the direction of the head coach, Principal and Athletic Director.Qualifications:Per WIAA - minimum age for head coach is 21 years of age, assistant coach is 19 years of ageMust complete SafeSchools and WIAA Final Forms training prior to the beginning of the sport's seasonMust pass a background checkCurrent Red Cross First Aid/CPR CardMust be current with WIAA coaching clock hoursBe able to pass a screening test to provide transportation for student-athletes if necessaryRegular and punctual attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirementsPrevious coaching experience preferredBilingual preferredSkills:Teamwork and teambuildingStrong communication skillsAbility to mentor and motivate studentsExcellent interpersonal skillsSuch alternatives to the above requirements and desirable qualifications may be made as the district finds appropriate.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Work in collaboration with the head football coachBecome familiar with and promote the core values of the school's Athletic ProgramServe as a positive role model for studentsResponsible for planning, organizing, and delivering an appropriate range of sports activities and programmes for the teamAssist in organizing and coaching all practicesAssist in organizing and coaching at all gamesAssist with sports promotion and developmentWork to be an effective team memberAssist with game day preparationEnsure that student-athletes adhere to training rules, lettering policies, grade requirements, and rules of behaviorEnsure the continual supervision of student-athletes on the field, in conditioning, and in locker and shower roomsEnsure that health and safety precautions are observed during all activitiesImmediately report all major injuries incurred during practice sessions or competition to the Athletic Director, and Principal.Learn techniques, skills, philosophy, rules, and strategiesPerform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisorThe requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
