Mechanical Engineer (PE) - HVAV / MEP DesignLocation: Greenville, SC (Onsite)Salary: $70,000 to $120,000 Depending on ExperienceDesign the Systems That Power Modern BuildingsOur client is seeking a Licensed Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) with strong hands-on design experience in building systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys diving deep into HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection design and taking projects from concept through construction.You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality engineered solutions for commercial, institutional, industrial, and healthcare facilities while mentoring junior engineers and helping ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.If you enjoy technical design work, BIM modeling, and solving real-world engineering challenges, this role offers an excellent opportunity to make an impact.What You’ll DoAs the Mechanical PE, you’ll take a lead role in the design and engineering of building mechanical systems.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeLead the design of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems for building projectsPerform HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment selectionsCreate detailed construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)Conduct site visits and field observations to support project executionReview contractor submittals, RFIs, and construction documentationWork closely with electrical, civil, and structural engineering teams for coordinated designMentor junior engineers and designers and perform QA/QC reviewsParticipate in client meetings and project coordination to ensure schedules and budgets are metRequired QualificationsActive Professional Engineer (P.E.) License - Mechanical EngineeringBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited program preferred)Strong design experience in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systemsProficiency with AutoCAD and Revit (BIM modeling)Knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NFPA codes, and mechanical building codesAbility to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred / Bonus ExperienceForensic engineering or failure analysis experienceLEED accreditation or sustainable building design knowledgeExperience with energy modeling software (Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, etc.)Background in construction administration or field coordinationExperience with multiple project sectors (commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial)Client-facing or business development experienceSchedule & Work EnvironmentStandard hours: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday-ThursdayHalf day Fridays: 7:30 AM - 11:30 AMOptional 4x10 schedule availableMinimal travel (primarily regional site visits)Apply TodayIf you're a Mechanical PE who loves design work, solving engineering challenges, and collaborating with other disciplines, we’d love to connect.Apply today to join a team where engineering expertise turns into real-world impact.
