Back-end Software Engineer

Employees in this job function develop and maintain the back-end/ server-side parts of an application, typically consisting of APIs, databases and other services containing business logic. They work with various languages and tools to create and maintain services on-prem or in the cloud.Key ResponsibilitiesEngage with customers to understand their use-cases and requirementsSolve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering using various tools, languages, frameworks, and technologiesAlign with architecture guidelines for unified and coherent approach to developmentDesign, develop, and deliver new code using various tools, languages, frameworks, and technologiesDevelop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages like Java.Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user interface elements and with cross functional teams like product owners, designers, architects etc.Manage application deployment to the cloud or on-prem, health and performance monitoring, security hardening and disaster recovery for deployed applicationsManage data storage and retrievals in applications by utilizing database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.Promote improvements in programming practices, such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deliveryOptimize back-end infrastructure and deployment practices to improve application resiliency and reliabilitySupport security practices to safeguard user data including encryption and anonymizationSkills RequiredGCP Cloud Run, Software Development, GCP, Cloud Computing, Data Analysis, Zero Trust, Spring Boot, Application Development, Problem Solving, REST APIs, JUnit, Analytical skills, Application Design, Full Stack, Java, API, Application TestingSkills PreferredTechnical Communication, Troubleshooting (Problem Solving), Root Cause Analysis, User Experience Design (UX), Gap Analysis, Application DesignExperience RequiredEngineer 2 Exp.: Practitioner: 1 coding language or framework. 5+ years in IT; 3+ years in developmentExperience PreferredDevSecOps development (not just using pipelines), GitHub Actions, Cloud security, IAM, GCP preferredEducation RequiredBachelor's DegreeAdditional InformationFull stack application development, In depth knowledge of DevSecOps CI-CD (not just using pipelines), supporting product users, enablement mindset.Must be able use AI responsibly to benefit product/services. Self motivated, Must be able to comprehend work in depth and breadth.Must be able to manager larger set of work independently as well collaborate with others.Looks for improvement opportunities, Demonstrate thought leadership.
