With a focus on supporting the work of existing animal welfare organizations, keeping pets and people together, providing sanctuary to needy horses, the Foundation promotes a sustainable, mission-drive work environment while providing the highest quality compassionate care to our clients and the animals in their care. Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate team. This role involves providing high-quality technical support in veterinary care, with responsibilities spanning anesthesia, blood work, dental procedures, client education, lab diagnostics, and imaging.Key Responsibilities·      Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgical and diagnostic procedures.·      Perform blood collection, processing, and analysis for diagnostic purposes.·      Assist in dental procedures including cleanings, radiographs, and extractions.·      Educate clients on animal health, preventive care, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions.·      Conduct laboratory diagnostics including urinalysis, fecal exams, cytology, and other tests.·      Operate and maintain imaging equipment such as X-ray and ultrasound machines.·      Support veterinarians in surgical procedures and patient care.·      Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with veterinary standards.·      Assist in inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.·      Provide compassionate care and handling of animals in all settings. Benefits·      Competitive compensation based on experience and health insurance stipend·      Employee pet-patient discounts·      Scrub uniforms provided·      Paid Time Off and continuing education ·      Retirement plan and additional benefits as applicableOur CulturePet Wellness Veterinary Hospital cultivates a compassionate, mission-driven, and collaborative workplace culture grounded in professionalism, accountability, and service. Candidates must be available to work some weekends and/or holidays, as determined by hospital staffing needs and assigned schedules.Physical and Professional Requirements·      Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential or equivalent required.·      Demonstrated proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, phlebotomy, dental procedures, laboratory diagnostics, and diagnostic imaging.·      Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to educate clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.·      Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.·      Ability to safely and compassionately handle fearful, fractious, or stressed animals in a clinical setting.·      Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.·      Willingness to mentor veterinary assistants and support the development of newer team members.·      Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare, continual learning, and ongoing professional growth.
