Project Superintendent
Arrowhead Talent Solutions is assisting a growing telecommunications company in Springfield NC with their search for a Project Superintendent - Civil Construction.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Project Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day execution of all civil construction and drilling operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on-time, on-budget, and to quality standards. This role manages field crews, coordinates equipment and materials, enforces safety protocols, and serves as the primary operational leader for active job sites. The Superintendent works closely with the Estimator to ensure smooth handoff from bid to build and reports directly to company ownership on project performance, safety, and profitability.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESField Operations LeadershipOversee all active civil construction and cell tower drilling projects from mobilization through closeoutManage drilling foremen, equipment operators, and field crews (direct employees and subcontractors)Conduct daily job site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality standardsCoordinate equipment utilization, maintenance schedules, and logistics across multiple sitesEnsure proper training and certification of drilling crews and heavy equipment operatorsTroubleshoot field issues in real-time including equipment failures, unforeseen conditions, and scope changesSafety & ComplianceChampion company safety culture across all job sitesConduct daily safety briefings and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policiesInvestigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actionsMaintain all safety documentation, certifications, and training recordsCoordinate with regulatory agencies on inspections and compliance requirementsProject Controls & Financial PerformanceTrack job costs daily against budget including labor hours, equipment time, materials, and subcontractorsIdentify cost overruns or schedule slippage early and implement corrective actionReview and approve timecards, equipment logs, and material purchasesCoordinate change order documentation with estimator and ownershipEnsure accurate daily production reporting for billing and WIP trackingQuality Control & Client InterfaceEnsure work meets contract specifications and quality standardsConduct regular inspections and document quality control checkpointsServe as on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, and inspectorsAddress client concerns promptly and maintain professional relationshipsCoordinate project closeout, punchlist completion, and final inspectionsTeam Leadership & DevelopmentModel and enforce our core values: Integrity, Loyalty, Hunger, Safety, and High PerformanceBuild and develop high-performing field teams aligned with company cultureProvide hands-on coaching and mentorship to foremen and crew leadsConduct performance reviews and address personnel issues in a timely and professional mannerFoster culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementRecruit and train new field personnel as business growsCollaboration with EstimatorParticipate in pre-bid site walks and scope review meetingsProvide field feedback on estimating assumptions including production rates, equipment needs, and risksReview project budgets and work plans before project kickoffDocument lessons learned to improve future estimating accuracyQUALIFICATIONSRequired:10+ years progressive experience in civil construction and/or foundation drilling operations5+ years in superintendent, foreman, or field leadership role managing crewsDeep technical knowledge of drilling operations, concrete work, site preparation, and utility installationExperience with telecommunications infrastructure including cell towers, fiber, and utilities strongly preferredProven ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneouslyStrong understanding of job cost tracking, schedule management, and productivity metricsOSHA 30-hour certification (or willingness to obtain immediately)Valid driver's license and clean driving recordAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentsProficient with mobile apps for time tracking, daily reporting, and photo documentationPreferred:Experience working with major telecom carriers or tower companiesCompetent Persons certifications including excavation, confined space, and fall protectionFamiliarity with construction management software such as Procore, Buildertrend, or similarForklift, crane, or heavy equipment operator certificationsExperience with prevailing wage and public works projects
