Junior Software Engineer

Job Title: Jr. Backend Software DeveloperLocation: 100% RemoteEmployment Type: W2 Contract, 9 Month Contract with possibility of extensionPay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hourRole Overview:BEPC is seeking a Backend Developer to support our client in building scalable and reliable backend systems. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career developers to gain hands-on experience, collaborate with experienced engineers, and contribute to real-world applications in a supportive and growth-focused environment.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the development and maintenance of backend services and APIsWrite clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.Support the design and implementation of database structures and queriesCollaborate with front-end developers and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging activities.Troubleshoot issues and support system improvements under guidance.Learn and apply new tools, technologies, and development practices.Help maintain application performance, security, and reliabilityQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Approximately 1–2 years of experience in software development (internships and academic projects accepted).Basic proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Java, C#, or Node.jsUnderstanding of REST APIs and web servicesFamiliarity with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).Experience with Git or version control systemsStrong communication skills with advanced English proficiencyPreferred Qualifications:Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Familiarity with frameworks such as .NET, Spring Boot, Express, or FlaskBasic understanding of Docker or containerizationExperience with personal, academic, or open-source projectsKey Skills:Strong willingness to learn and growProblem-solving mindsetAttention to detailEffective communication and teamwork
