Depot ManagerWork Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PMSalary Range: $70,000–$80,000 + Bonus: 4%Travel: Up to 40% international travel – shoresideField Pay: EligibleClearance: Must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security ClearanceEducation: Associate degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree also acceptablePosition OverviewThe Depot Manager is responsible for overseeing shipping, receiving, warehouse, and facility operations at depot locations. This is a hands-on leadership position combining logistics management, cable-handling operations, equipment oversight, inventory control, and facility management.The Depot Manager will coordinate cable movements, supervise dock and warehouse personnel, manage depot assets and inventory, and ensure operations are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The position requires flexibility for international travel and 24/7 emergency or operational support when required.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & LogisticsManage cable movements supporting vessels.Coordinate loading, unloading, and movement of cable and materials using cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment.Coordinate cable transfers between domestic and international depot locations.Supervise and direct stevedores, dock workers, warehouse personnel, and other operational labor.Ensure materials are handled safely and according to established operational procedures.Inventory & Customer ManagementMaintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing cable, materials, and equipment.Manage customer inventory and ensure accurate tracking and reporting.Prepare cost estimates for depot-related projects and services.Review project billing for accuracy.Administer and maintain customer storage agreements.Facilities & Asset ManagementOversee the condition and maintenance of depot buildings, grounds, cranes, forklifts, and other operational equipment.Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.Coordinate equipment repairs and facility maintenance as needed.Ensure depot assets remain safe, operational, and available to support business requirements.Financial ManagementManage depot operating budgets.Monitor expenses and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.Balance financial performance with operational requirements and customer service expectations.Safety & ComplianceEnsure depot activities comply with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable operational requirements.Promote a strong safety culture across warehouse, dock, and cable-handling activities.Maintain integrity and accountability in all business and operational practices.Travel & AvailabilityTravel internationally up to approximately 40% to support global depot operations and cable-handling activities.Be available on a 24/7 on-call basis for emergencies and urgent operational requirements.Successfully complete and maintain required Fit for Duty examinations for international travel.Required QualificationsExperience managing logistics, warehouse, depot, marine, manufacturing, or other hands-on operational environments.Experience supervising laborers, stevedores, warehouse personnel, or similar operational teams.Strong leadership, organization, communication, and coordination skills.Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.Ability and willingness to operate, or be trained to operate, cranes, forklifts, and related material-handling equipment.Ability and willingness to travel internationally up to 40%.Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.Preferred QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related field.Previous experience with submarine cable, cable installation, cable handling, marine operations, or related infrastructure.Experience managing inventory, budgets, vendors, facilities, and preventive maintenance programs.Previous experience supporting dock, port, warehouse, heavy-equipment, or vessel-related operations.Key Must-HavesHands-on operations/logistics leadership experience.Experience supervising operational labor.Comfortable around cranes, forklifts, heavy equipment, and material-handling operations.Ability to manage inventory, facilities, budgets, and operational schedules.Willingness to be on call 24/7 when needed.Willingness and ability to complete up to 40% international travel.Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
