Director of Equipment Planning and Procurement - Hybrid

This role works directly with physician end users to identify equipment needs and vendor preferences. Using systems integrated with the Surgery Partners procurement platform, the position supports enterprise purchasing initiatives, group purchasing opportunities, and development of room-by-room, specialty-specific equipment budgets. The role also evaluates placement and vendor financing options and may support expansions of existing medical facilities.QualificationsHigh school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum of 10 years of ASC procurement experience, including at least 5 years at the Director level or higher, with demonstrated expertise in ASC equipment budgeting, planning, and procurementDemonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate across enterprise-level departmentsProficiency in MS Office and procurement software, with practical experience developing and managing project work plans and workflowsAbility to work independently while managing multiple deadlines simultaneously and with a strong sense of urgencyWorking Conditions And Physical RequirementsMobility required to navigate various facility conditions and activities during the setup phasePrimarily office-based environment with occasional exposure to patient care areasAbility to travel up to 50%ResponsibilitiesLead development of de novo equipment and supply budgets and oversee the planning, purchase, or lease of all equipment, furniture, medical instruments, and suppliesManage, monitor, and forecast equipment budgets; identify cost variances and implement procurement strategies to remain aligned with approved project capital plansParticipate in internal and external design, construction, and project meetings to provide updates and ensure project coordinationCoordinate and manage the overall furnish-and-install FF&E matrix with key project stakeholdersLead coordination between fixed equipment vendors and architects during schematic design (SD) and design development (DD) phasesDevelop and manage vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and strong service performanceReview and provide guidance on equipment proposals, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure alignment with GPO and Surgery Partners contractsPartner with physician end users to evaluate equipment options, balancing clinical preferences with enterprise standards to support informed selection decisionsEstablish delivery schedules for start-up equipment, furniture, medical and non-medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals; coordinate deliveries with project timelines, including warehousing when necessaryCoordinate equipment installation, commissioning, end-user training, and operational handoff to clinical and facility teamsOversee vendor and GPO credentialing, credit applications, and required documentationManage multiple projects simultaneously across various stages of developmentProvide troubleshooting support and coordinate resolution of equipment and procurement issues throughout the project lifecycleBenefitsComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceHealth Savings Account with an employer contributionLife Insurance PTO401(k) retirement plan with a company matchAnd more!
