BIM/CAD Coordinator (Boston)

Looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual for the role VDC/BIM Coordinator. The candidate must possess the skills required to successfully execute project tasks, have a strong work ethic and be a dynamic team player. This person should also have a passion for BIM innovations and emerging technologies in the AEC industry. Experience in Revit and AutoCAD with 3D modeling capabilities is a must, as well as the ability to work in other compatible design software packages. Projects will consist of both existing building renovations and new construction of different scales and scope. The CAD/BIM Coordinator is responsible for assisting the project team with the coordination, and quality assurance, of all aspects of construction projects, including architectural, structural, and MEP/FP. The CAD/BIM Coordinator will work with project teams, and directly with subcontractors, to ensure that they are following best practice techniques for project coordination. Project will be coordinated and both CAD and BIM systems. Working knowledge and understanding of architectural and engineering systems is essential to this role.Required Skills and Abilities· Experience working with architectural and engineering contract documents and creating 3D drawings.· Prepare/draft 2D Construction Shop Drawings for construction from sketches and mark‐ups in a timely and accurate manner· Assist in identifying issues involving architectural errors, constructability, and continuity of ratings. Work with project team to provide recommendations to resolve construction challenges.· Extremely service oriented and highly approachable with commitment to helping others· Good interpersonal skills and very comfortable and effective working with others in a team environment· Create, manage and maintain the project design models and the associated drawings as directed by discipline leads and the BIM Coordinator· Attend and/or manage model coordination meetings and document project preconstruction meetings (write meeting minutes)· Ability to use independent judgment, problem-solving ability, self-starting and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors· Able to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and effectively.· Passion for design technologies and skilled in the development of technologies and practices to increase user effectiveness· Strong, self-motivated work ethic with ability to be effective and timely while providing· Highly organized and able to balance multiple priorities· Excellent oral and written communication skills· Understands the urgency of deadlines· Proficiency utilizing Revit for the creation of presentation and construction documents· Understanding and proficiency using the following software:· MS Office· SketchUp· AutoCAD· Revit· BluebeamQualifications· 3-6 years of experience in an A/E design firm setting or construction industry equivalency· Proficiency in Revit is required· Experience with AutoCAD P&ID and the functions of AutoCAD platforms (AutoCAD Architecture & MEP) preferred but not requiredUnderstanding of contractual delivery methods for design and construction projectsUnderstanding of industry standard VDC documentation (BEP, BIMForum, etc.)Experience with 3D collaboration tools (Navisworks, BIM360 suite, Assemble) is preferredKnowledge of supporting BIM tools (Revit add-ins, Dynamo, Bluebeam, AR/VR) is preferredIndustry BIM certification (Revit Certified Professional, CM-BIM, etc.) is preferred
