Sales Associate, Retail Operations

Position Title: Sales Associate - Ravinia Festival Shop Department: Festival Shop (Marketing & Communications) Reports To: Manager of Retail Operations Range: $15.75/hr, non-exempt Company Description At Ravinia, we believe in the transformative power of shared, live-music moments and their ability to inspire individuals, strengthen communities, and foster a more connected world. Over 100 different events, featuring a mix of classical, rock, pop, jazz, R&B, indie, and country performers, make up a typical summer season across our open-air and indoor stages, including the annual residency of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Position Summary: The Ravinia guest experience is more than the performance on stage. Our beautiful, welcoming park is what makes listening to music at Ravinia truly special, and we’re excited to open our gates to concertgoers. From morning to night, each of our employees contributes to making live music at Ravinia extraordinary. As Ravinia’s Sales Associate, you are responsible for cashiering, promoting sales items, and creating a welcoming customer experience. You will have the opportunity to learn and work in Ravinia’s retail operations. All locations are on festival grounds; two retail shops and pop-up shops (vary by occasion or concert). Preparation and hiring begin May 15th, part-time & full-time hours are available. General Responsibilities  Cashiering using a point-of-sale system (Shopify) Closing report and counting cash drawer at the end of each shift Provide excellent customer service and set an example for all staff Engage with customers on the sales floor and behind the register Clean, organize and restock shop locations daily Assist in merchandising stores and displays Qualifications High School or equivalent work experience Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to multi-task and work in teams or independently Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs. Available to work evening hours on weekdays and weekends   All Ravinia employees must be at least 16 years of age  Work Environment The Ravinia season runs from July through September. Priority in hiring will be given to applicants who are available to work the entire season.   This position is onsite, Indoors within two locations in the park with prolonged periods of standing with engagement with customers. It requires mostly afternoon/evening hours. Applicants must be available for both weekday and weekend  hours. The Festival Shop is a fast paced environment which includes collaborative and independent work.
