HVAC Instructor

Technical Trainer – Building Science Schedule: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, with travel) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Trainer – Building Science to deliver high-quality instruction for industry-recognized certifications. This role is responsible for training HVAC technicians, energy auditors, and building performance professionals through both classroom and hands-on field instruction. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, real-world field experience, and the ability to effectively engage and develop students. Key Responsibilities Deliver technical training for building science and HVAC-related certifications (BPI, NATE, and other industry programs) Lead both classroom instruction and hands-on field training sessions Prepare training materials, presentations, and supporting documentation Evaluate student performance and provide coaching to support certification success Maintain training schedules and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth course delivery Utilize and update the company LMS and training materials as needed Travel to various training locations as required Stay current with industry standards, technologies, and certification requirements Qualifications BPI or NATE certification requiredMinimum 5 years of experience in the building science / HVAC field Strong understanding of building performance, HVAC systems, and diagnostic testing Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF tools Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to engage diverse groups of students with varying skill levels Strong organizational and time management skills Willingness and ability to travel frequently What We’re Looking For A confident instructor with strong field credibility Passion for training and developing the next generation of technicians Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into practical, real-world applications Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced training environment Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Healthcare benefits available 401(k) retirement plan available Opportunity to work with a growing training organization and industry-leading programs Travel opportunities and exposure to national training initiatives
