The Accounts Payable & Property Management Coordinator role sits under the Dooryard umbrella and supports work across all three divisions. Dooryard Management is the property management arm, currently overseeing 52 residential units, with plans to grow to 82 units before the end of the 2026 calendar year. The portfolio includes affordable workforce housing financed in partnership with MaineHousing. Our team is small and collaborative, and we value people who take ownership, stay organized, and find satisfaction in keeping things running smoothly.Role OverviewDooryard is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable & Property Management Coordinator to provide key financial support across all three divisions of the company,. While accounts payable is the core of this role (approximately 60% of your time), it's broader than a typical AP position. This role will also support property management workflows (~25%) and general administrative coordination (~15%), providing meaningful exposure to how a vertically integrated real estate company operates day to day.This role works closely with the Operations Coordinator and Senior Property Accountant. For the right person, there is room to grow, whether deeper into accounting, broader into operations, or across multiple divisions of the Dooryard organization.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & Receivable• Process accounts payable across multiple entities• Enter and code bills in QuickBooks, AppFolio, and Knowify (training for Knowify provided)• Ensure expenses are accurately categorized• Help track invoices, approvals, and payment schedules• Assist with accounts receivable tracking and follow-up• Organize and reconcile credit card transactionsAccounting Support• Assist the senior accountant in maintaining accurate books• Help identify and correct discrepancies• Support monthly financial reporting• Maintain organized financial records and documentationProperty Management Support• Submit tenant applications to MaineHousing for approval• Help track rent payments and reporting in AppFolio• Run reports for rents due, delinquencies, and collections• Send tenant communications, reminders, and follow-ups• Assist with drafting and sending notices, updates, and routine correspondence to tenants• Support the Operations Coordinator in responding to tenant inquiries and escalating issues as needed• Help track and coordinate work orders and reimbursements• Assist with tenant accounts and lease administrationReporting & Compliance• Assist in running and distributing monthly financial reports for each property• Support compliance with MaineHousing requirements and reporting• Maintain accurate records for audits and internal trackingQualificationsRequired• 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or a similar administrative role• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadline• Comfort working across multiple software systems simultaneously• Proficiency with Quickbooks • Strong written communication skills for tenant and vendor correspondence• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretionPreferred• Experience with QuickBooks, AppFolio, or similar property management/accounting software, along with Excel, Google Suite• Background in property management, real estate, or affordable housing• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)How to ApplyPlease send your resume and a brief cover letter to melissa@dooryard.us
