Second Chances Addiction Recovery Center is a residential treatment facility that specializes in treating adults suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. We offer 30-day to 90-day programs, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), aftercare, and family therapy.Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Counselor is responsible for providing care and counseling to clients and their families within the various services, both inpatient and outpatient. The Counselor will be responsible for coordinating with other inpatient/outpatient substance abuse treatment professionals who provide counseling and other therapeutic services. Counselors carry a client caseload and assist in providing routine therapeutic services.Primary duties include:Providing highest quality of care through the counseling of clients and their familiesMaintaining case management records completing assessments, treatment plans, counseling sessions, case notes, and discharge plans as required.Documenting case records to reflect course treatmentProviding all services in compliance with all DHH and CARF standards and guidelinesCoordinating with outlying agencies, sober-living homes, and non-profits to ensure continuity-of-care for clientsProviding feedback and coordinating efforts with the Clinical Director to ensure organizational consistency with treatment, operations, and evaluative effortsProviding knowledge and experience in various company meetings to ensure the smooth functioning of clinical operationsMaintaining knowledge and proficiency as a counseling professional for continuous developmentFostering teamwork and organizational structures to improve communication and simplify the organizationPromoting an environment that facilitates innovation, creative solutions, and empowermentPerforming other tasks and duties as assigned by Management and/or Clinical DirectorPhysical activity requirements include:Required to stand and walk for variable periodsRequired to occasionally reach with hands and armsRequired to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 poundsRequired specific vision abilities: Close visionEducation, knowledge, competencies, and skills required include:Must have one of the following: CIT, LPC, PLPC, LMFT, PLMFT, RSW, LCSW. Preferably have RAC, CAC, or LACMust have at least one (1) year of experience counseling in a clinical settingMust be able to work independently and in a team environmentMust be detail oriented and organized, with a natural passion to help peopleMust have two (2) years uninterrupted sobriety if in personal recoverySecond Chances is an Equal Opportunity Company.
