Instructor (Part-Time)
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Are you passionate about sharing your love of teaching with students? We are looking for teachers to provide 1:1 tutoring to students. The position is completely remote.
Hours will vary as needed.
Synchronous online sessions (Monday - Friday; 8-5pm EST).
Individualized 1:1 instruction
Students are middle school through high schools
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
K-12 Grade level expertise (working with variety of age groups and understanding the way they learn).
Ability to teach Math, English, Science and Social Studies
Create daily lesson plans
Cultural Sensitivity
Be able to create affirming learning environments in virtual spaces.
Convey content in creative and engaging ways that align with standards.
Work with the site coordinator to maintain timely student attendance and progress records.
Support pre-session operational preparation as well as session day operations.
Attend weekly professional development sessions and provide feedback on the curriculum.
Serve as a positive representative of OST within the broader Boston community.
Other Duties: Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Must have reliable internet.
Must have a quiet working space where classes can be conducted without interruption.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for this position must possess the following qualifications:
5 years teaching experience required
Ability to make learning fun and engaging
Ability to pass background check and CORI
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
