Job PurposeTo provide comprehensive engineering support for the Company under minimal supervision of licensed professional engineers.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTechnical Responsibilities:Plan and coordinate with Project Management, Estimating, and Drafting departments to generate, review, and markup shop drawings.Research and investigate information for design analysis and drawing production.Analyze structures using both finite element and classical methods considering all applicable load conditions and code requirements.Develop, perform, and prepare designs and drawings for the following items using various materials including as concrete, carbon fiber, steel, fiberglass, and timber:Two dimensional and three dimensional structures;One- and two-way slabs;Plate and shell structures;Scaffold and shoring formwork; andPrestressed elements using single-wire and strand.Prepare scope, budget, and assignments for engineering designs.Prepare and review various drawings and other visual aids.Respond to general inquiries.StandardsDevelop and maintain standard Company design sheets and details.Develop programming for prestressed concrete tank, formwork and associated structure applications.Active participation in department meetings and completion of assigned department responsibilities.Professional Conduct/Development:Build professional and technical knowledge through continuing education including reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and educational workshops at the direction of the department manager.Maintain and enhance the Company's image through personal demeanor and methods of conducting business.Other duties as assigned and seasonal projects as necessary.Essential RequirementsHigh motivation level and strong attention to detailPossess effective oral and written communication skillsEffective problem solving and strong mathematical skillsAbility to work in a team environmentProficient in MS Office SuiteMinimum QualificationsB.S. Degree Civil Engineering or similar ABET/EAC accredited program2 years of experience in structural engineering design and comprehensive knowledge of structural design standards and codesEngineering Intern (EI) or Engineer-in-training (EIT) licensureProficiency in design softwares such as Staad Pro, NX Nastran, Mathcad and AutoCADWorking ConditionsPrimarily officeOccasional travel will be requiredExtended hours will be required as necessary to meet deadlines
