The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing operations across Direct Wire & Cable’s Denver and Lancaster facilities. This role drives process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and overall production performance in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong analytical and technical skills who collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Continuous Improvement teams. This position plays a key role in analyzing processes, troubleshooting production challenges, improving equipment capability, implementing Lean manufacturing practices, and supporting new product and equipment introductions to achieve the Company’s operational objectives.
Responsibilities
Maintain clear, organized documentation for all processes, procedures, and standard work
Design, test, and upgrade workflows, equipment processes, and manufacturing systems
Own process and SOP governance across manufacturing
Partner with Continuous Improvement leadership to assess existing processes and identify improvement opportunities
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational requirements
Develop and update standard operating instructions and create visual management tools
Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for downtime, quality concerns, and workflow issues
Support start‑up, ramp‑up, and stabilization of new equipment and process changes
Participate in process trials for new product development and ensure consistent application of manufacturing standards
Contribute to company‑wide continuous improvement efforts and Lean initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
3–5 years of experience in high‑volume, high‑variability manufacturing
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude; able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Knowledge of manufacturing, production, and automation systems
Proficiency with MS Office, databases, statistical analysis tools, and project management software; AutoCAD experience preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to interpret complex technical information and lead process‑focused initiatives
