This role will be responsible for supporting various tax compliance, research, and reporting activities. You will play a key role in leading the domestic and foreign tax return preparation process, including federal, state and local income tax returns, in accordance with ASC 740, while being exposed to various other areas of taxation. The person in this role reports to the Senior Manager – Global Tax Compliance.ResponsibilitiesManage the income tax compliance and tax provision process, including quarterly and annual preparation and analysis of the ASC 740 provisions in support of our tax, accounting and financial reporting processesWork closely with the tax and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting of income taxes in compliance with ASC 740Assist in the review of the federal consolidated tax return and supporting statements and disclosuresResearch new tax developments to advise on risks and opportunities; proactively, reactively, and on an as directed basisPrepare and maintain detailed working papers, including but not limited to depreciation schedules and book-to-tax adjustments; reconciliation of income tax liabilities and reviewing other tax-related adjustments; deferred tax assets and liabilities; uncertain tax positions, and tax disclosures for financial statementsCoordinate with external CPA firm regarding federal, state, and local corporate income tax returnsDevelop, maintain, and update income tax department policies, processes, and proceduresMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local income tax laws, as well as the company's tax calendarPrepare tax account reconciliations; propose journal entries to support the month-end close processAssist in responding to income tax audits, inquiries, and notices from revenue authoritiesIdentify areas to bring efficiency to the income tax reporting process, including automation initiatives related to taxReview, prepare and file sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basisAssist with business license renewals and other miscellaneous tax-related filingsParticipate in special projects as neededAs allowed by applicable law, a willingness and ability to perform late night, weekend or holiday coverage due to year end, quarterly and monthly close requirementsRequirements3+ years of corporate income tax compliance experience, preferably with a large public accounting firm, with working knowledge of ASC 740 and tax provision preparation; CPA preferredDemonstrated skill set in corporate federal, state, and local income tax complianceStrong attention to detail and organizational skills; proven analytical skills; ability to interpret complex tax data and financial informationAbility to interact with external parties such as third-party tax preparers, auditors, and tax jurisdiction authoritiesA bias for action; able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlinesWillingness to take the initiative for process improvements and to optimize the compliance preparation processKnowledge of U.S. sales and use tax regulations and multi-state tax complianceBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fieldPreferredComfortable with apportionment calculations and multiple complex book-to-tax adjustmentsExperience with tax provision software (CorpTax, OneSource, GoSystems, etc.) preferredWorking knowledge of R&D Tax Credit and transfer pricingExperience with international income tax compliance (5471, GILTI, FDII, foreign withholding, etc.), including filing of overseas tax returnsExperience with NetSuite or other comparable ERP systemsWorking knowledge of software-as-a-service (SaaS) and/or cybersecurity industriesBenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision (inclusive of domestic partnerships)Employer Paid Life Insurance & Employee/Spouse/Child Supplemental lifeVoluntary Short/Long Term Disability Insurance401K (Roth/Traditional)A generous PTO plan that celebrates your commitment and seniority (including paid Bereavement/Jury Duty, etc)Above market annual bonusesKeeper Security, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and participant in the U.S. Federal E-Verify program.
