Associate Level Therapist

Job Title: Associate Level Therapist Description: At NorthStar, our patient-first approach inspires us to provide a variety of treatment options to address the mental health needs of our patients. We support people experiencing symptoms related to depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, Bipolar Disorder and those on the neurodivergent spectrum. Our therapists have diverse backgrounds and experience in helping folks who are members of marginalized communities, those who identify with the LGBTQ+ community, survivors of domestic violence, substance use challenges and complex trauma. They utilize a range of therapeutic modalities to approach working with clients. Job Summary: The associate level therapist works in a multidisciplinary team providing individual psychotherapy to clients 18+ years of age. Therapists also have the opportunity to lead groups, engage in family sessions and couple’s counseling as well as providing therapy to clients receiving Es/ketamine and TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) treatments at the clinic. Responsibilities: Provide outpatient mental health counseling for adults and carry a caseload of clients to meet the requirement of 25 billable client hours a week. Expectation of 1200 billable hours a year. Ability to complete biopsychosocial assessments and create individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances. Meet with clients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Conduct ongoing assessment of client progress. Clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner to meet client needs and best practice standards. Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients. Diagnose and treat mental health disorders. Attend monthly All Staff Meetings. Clinical Opportunities: Have the ability to work alongside and act as a mentor to local university students. Provide ACT therapy to patients receiving Es/ketamine and/or TMS at the clinic in both an individual and group setting. Create and/or facilitate Psychotherapy or Support Groups for patients. Ability to regularly meet with an approved clinical supervisor to collect client hours for licensure requirements. Participate in weekly group supervisions. Work with clients and their families. Qualifications: Possession of a Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of social work, psychology or counseling. Registered as an associate in the state of Oregon (CSWA, LMFT-a, LPCa etc.) and Washington (LSWAIC, LMHCA, etc.). Maintain professional licensure and/or certification throughout employment with this clinic. Ability to work as a team member and cooperatively. Superb organization skills. Ability to guide, direct or influence people. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients.
