We are always looking to grow our team with talented individuals that will contribute to team goals and meet deadlines.We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team full-time in Long Island City, Queens, NY. In this key role, you will partner closely with the Chief Estimator and collaborate across teams to support the development of competitive heavy civil bids and estimates. Responsibilities include performing quantity takeoffs, maintaining and updating cost data, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, and preparing comprehensive proposals for final review. This position offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in delivering high-quality, winning bids.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate bid pricing for heavy civil projectsAnalyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to fully understand project scope and requirementsBuild, maintain, and update labor, material, and equipment cost data (HCSS)Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor quotationsDevelop pricing for bids, alternates, and change ordersReview estimates for constructability, risk, and value-engineering opportunitiesSupport and lead proposal submissions, including design-build pursuitsDevelop and manage bid schedules, ensuring all milestones are metMaintain the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detailQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of heavy civil estimating experience and 7+ years in construction overallStrong understanding of contracts, bid processes, and insurance requirementsExperience bidding with NYC agencies and within the tri-state marketDesign-build experience is a plusProficiency in reading and interpreting heavy civil drawings and specificationsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience with HCSS, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and/or B2W preferredFamiliarity with subcontractor scopes and vendor coordinationExcellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to perform under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentWhat We Offer:Employee Stock Ownership PlanMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance401K Retirement Plan with Company MatchEmployee Assistance ProgramLife Insurance PlansDisabilityCareer Development through Mentoring Program, Learning & Development, Continuing Education
