Senior Architectural Designer
Intermediate Workplace Designer | Corporate Interiors | 4–7 Years | NYCA NYC corporate and commercial interiors studio is adding an Intermediate Designer to its workplace practice. This role runs the full design phase from concept through construction, supporting design leadership across a varied book of corporate projects. The right person is technically sharp, detail-driven, and ready to own scope rather than sit in production.ResponsibilitiesWork directly with clients throughout the design phase.Develop preliminary programs of requirements, test fits, and schematic plans, including program and basic code analysis.Prepare scope and budget documentation for analysis.Coordinate design requirements across clients, consultants, and the project team.Organize, prepare, and present in client design presentations.Select, present, and specify furniture, finishes, and accessories.Manage furniture bid documents, analyze dealer responses, and review specifications.Assemble design development packages into construction documents, including millwork and special construction details.Review engineering documents, shop drawings, and submittals against design intent.Visit the project site during construction.Qualifications4 to 7 years of continuous design experience in corporate, commercial, or workplace interiors.Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, plus Adobe Creative Suite.Ability to produce photo-realistic renderings in Enscape and AI-driven software.Experience specifying systems and ancillary furniture. Working command of schematic design, design development, and construction documents.A detail-oriented mindset and the ability to run multiple projects in a fast-paced studio.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.What the studio offersFull project lifecycle exposure, so you build a portfolio that reaches past space planning into specification, documentation, and site workClose work with the Creative Director and direct client time, the path this level needs to grow into a Project Designer trackA modern tech stack with AI-driven rendering already in the workflowCompensation: $85,000 to $110,000, based on relevant experience, qualifications, skill set, and location.
