If this inspires you, please join us at Clorox Purell. Role Objective Independently leads testing and analysis with occasional guidance from Principal Scientists, Engineers and Management. Creates and leads test planning and efforts. Manages complex projects while consistently meeting deadlines. Demonstrates broad technical expertise appropriate for their role and leverages experience to solve problems. Builds science that can be leveraged and advanced in collaboration with the greater technical community. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesManages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs and testing to ensure success of projectsCo-leads cross-functional technical project teams, delivers solutions, and reports summaries and interpretation of data to stakeholders and/or senior leadershipContributes to strategy developmentCoaches and develops technical personnel to meet personal and enterprise capability goalsDevelops or performs statistical analysis for data interpretation and problem-solvingImproves current products and processes and creates new processes to ensure quality and efficiencyInitiates and leads collaboration efforts with internal and external stakeholdersBreaks down complex initiatives and utilizes resources and tools such as process mapping for efficiencies and improved productivityActively seeks knowledge and new technical skills for new development projects or to solve complex problemsDemonstrates technical leadership on industry committees and technical forums and presents at industry meetings, including oral or poster presentationsMay lead-author or co-author scientific publicationsProactively identifies and attends training to stay current on technical and scientific advances and identifies training opportunities for others in the groupDevelops novel test methods to meet testing and project needsWrites and approves SOPs and Work Instructions as well as other technical documentation (e.g., memos, protocols, and reports)Trains others on advanced test procedures and techniquesLeads creation of new LIMS functionality for the assigned labMay serve as EPA GLP personnel Analytical:Manages and conducts all analytical tests and instrumentationLeads development of new analytical methodsLeads problem-solving, maintenance, and repair of analytical instruments and toolsFacilitates opportunities to expand the team's testing capabilityManages method development initiatives independently, working with Technicians, Associate Scientists, and Scientists Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (ex. chemistry, microbiology, biology)Minimum ten (10) years' relevant experience preferredBasic operating experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with LIMS preferred Supervision/Coordination May supervise temporary lab workers, Technicians, Associate Scientists, and Scientists. Performs work that is varied and moderately difficult in character Role Type Mostly On-Site - 80%+ on-site work Travel Requirements Overnight Travel - sporadic - required. Travel between campus locations in Northeast Ohio as needed FLSA Status Exempt Compensation & Benefits The expected starting pay for this role is between 76,200.00 - 104,800.00 per year. Within this range, an offer will depend on factors such as level of experience and technical competencies relevant to this specific role, as well as internal equity considerations.
