Department: Juvenile Justice Location: Illinois Youth Center (IYC) - Grafton, ILAddress: Grafton, IL 62037Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pmSalary: $47,000 to $58,000, depending on experience and qualifications.Position Overview:The Substance Use Disorder Counselor provides intake screening, assessments, and support services to youth admitted to Reception and Classification Units within the Department of Juvenile Justice.Substance Use Disorder Counselor Responsibilities:Completes assessment and screening process on youth entering the Reception and Classification Unit as well as any additional youth as assignedParticipates in case consultation and planning as assignedParticipates in multi-disciplinary staff meetings as assignedFacilitates referral and discharge recommendationsConducts educational and therapeutic groups for youth as assignedRecord keeping/documentation for assessment and screening tools as well as assigned group activitiesCase management and coordinationParticipates in staff growth and development activitiesSubstance Use Disorder Counselor Qualifications: Bachelor's degree requiredMaster's degree preferredCADC required within 2 yearsFamiliarity with DSM-5 preferredKnowledge of chemical abuse and dependence diagnosis criteriaKnowledge of substance abuse disorders Substance Use Disorder Counselor Benefits, Full-time:Health, Dental, VisionLife InsuranceShort/Long-Term Disability options403(b) RetirementPaid Time off (PTO)Mileage Reimbursement (exclusive to position)Eligibility for Public Service Student Loan ForgivenessHow to Apply:Please apply through our website by submitting your resume.
