Role: Firmware Engineer / Firmware Software Engineer IWork Location: Onsite – Sunnyvale, CA / Santa Clara, CAJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Firmware Engineer to join the Reality Labs Silicon Validation team. The team builds cutting-edge products at the intersection of silicon, hardware, software, and content, focused on delivering high-quality silicon solutions.As a Silicon Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for validating high-performance silicon and ensuring reliable firmware delivery across complex hardware systems.You will apply computer science and engineering principles to design, develop, test, and validate firmware and system-level software used in advanced computing platforms.Key Responsibilities:Validate and debug silicon and firmware for high-performance hardware systemsDevelop, modify, and maintain firmware for silicon validation environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define validation scope, requirements, and test strategiesAnalyze system-level issues and implement firmware fixes and improvementsDesign and execute validation test plans to ensure silicon quality and stabilityReview requirements and assist in estimating effort, timelines, and deliverablesWork within the full software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and deploymentRequired Skills:Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem-solving and debugging abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyUnderstanding of full software development lifecycle (requirements through testing and delivery)Experience troubleshooting system-level issues and implementing fixesBasic understanding of computer hardware and software systemsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required"All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran"
